Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 9, 2026 · Last Updated: September 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FindMyLIC (“we,” “us,” “our”), operated by FindMyLIC, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FindMyLIC website (the “Site”).

The short version: we collect your contact details when you submit a form, and we share them with the leader of the group you asked to join — that is the whole point of the Site. We use an analytics tool that records how pages are used, including a replay of your visit with every form field hidden. We may occasionally email or text you about major Catholic young adult events if you asked us to. We never sell your information.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you submit an interest form to join a group or RSVP to an event, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the town you live in, your age, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, your agreement to our Terms of Use and this Policy, whether you opted in to email or text updates, and which group or event you chose. Your age is collected as a number, not merely as a yes-or-no confirmation, so that group leaders can tell you about gatherings suited to you.

If you register a group. We collect the group’s name, parish, town, meeting details, description, and the contact name and email you provide for the group’s leader.

If you ask to be told about contributing. We collect your name, email address, and phone number. We do not collect payment information anywhere on the Site, and nothing on the Site charges you.

If you are a group leader with an account. We collect your email address and the sign-in records that come with an account, and we store the material you publish about your group — its description, schedule, links, events, and any flyer images you upload.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting and analytics tools collect technical data such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, pages visited, referring URL, and the links and buttons you click. This is collected using cookies, local storage, and similar technologies.

Session recording. You should know about this specifically. On the public pages of the Site, our analytics provider records a replay of your visit — the pages you see, where you move and click, and how you scroll — so that we can find where the Site is confusing or broken. Every form input is masked before it is recorded, which means the names, email addresses, phone numbers, ages, and towns you type are never captured in a recording. Recording is switched off entirely on our sign-in, account setup, leader, and administrator pages, and we do not record page views on those pages either.

Linking your activity to you. When you submit an interest form, we send our analytics provider an irreversible cryptographic hash of your email address rather than the address itself, together with coarse details — your town, an age range rather than your exact age, the group you joined, and your contact preferences. This lets us understand how many groups someone looked at before joining. Our analytics provider does not receive your name, your email address, or your phone number.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run advertising on the Site.

3. How We Share Your Information

With group leaders. This is the core purpose of the Site. When you submit an interest form for a group or event, we share your submitted information — including your name, email address, phone number, town, and age — with the leader or leaders of that group so they can contact you. Group leaders agree to our Terms of Use, which require them to use your details only to contact you about that group and forbid them from selling your details or adding you to unrelated mailing lists. We cannot, however, technically prevent a leader from misusing your information. Once shared, that group’s use of your information is governed by the group, not by us. If a group leader misuses your details, please tell us at findmylic@gmail.com and we will act, up to removing the group from the Site.

With service providers. We use third-party services to run the Site. These currently include website hosting and content delivery, database and file storage, email delivery, text-message delivery, product analytics and session recording, and mapping and address lookup. These providers process your information only to provide services to us, and they are located in the United States. Our analytics and session-recording provider is PostHog.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of any person.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done so.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep the Site working (for example, remembering that you already submitted a form, and keeping you signed in if you have an account) and for the analytics described in Section 1. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; parts of the Site may not work correctly if you do. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting; there is no common standard for honouring it, and the Site does not currently respond to it.

5. Text Messages (SMS)

If you check the separate box consenting to text messages, we may send you occasional texts about groups and major events. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of joining any group. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Your mobile number and SMS consent are never shared with third parties for their own marketing.

6. Age Requirement — 18+

The Site is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has submitted information to us, contact us at findmylic@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention

We keep interest-form submissions for as long as reasonably needed to operate the network, and we review them periodically. Session recordings and detailed analytics events are kept for a limited period by our analytics provider and are then deleted or aggregated. Group and event listings remain while the group is listed. Account records are kept while the account is active. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your Choices and Rights

Access, correction, deletion. Email findmylic@gmail.com and we will provide, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, subject to legal requirements. We will respond within 45 days. Note that we cannot delete copies already shared with a group leader; contact that group directly.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws — including the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, to obtain a portable copy, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We honour reasonable requests regardless of where you live, and we will not treat you differently for making one.

9. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls that limit each group leader to their own group’s data, and reputable hosting providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Sites

The Site links to third-party websites — parish pages, group chats such as GroupMe, social media, registration platforms, and the diocesan vocations site. Following one of those links takes you to a service with its own privacy practices, which are their own; this Policy does not apply to them. We record that a link was clicked, but we cannot see what you do once you arrive.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted, with the “Last Updated” date revised. Material changes will be noted on the Site.
